Participation in any of our matches will satisfy the Civilian Marksmanship Program’s “marksmanship activity” requirement which is a prerequisite to purchasing an M1 Garand or other rifles from the CMP. 

 

General Rules/Descriptions:

Military Service Rifle League: 100 record shots from the offhand position over five weeks using any military service rifle of 6mm caliber or larger. Iron/open sights only.

 

High-Power Rifle League: 100 record shots from the offhand position over five weeks using any rifle of 6mm caliber or larger. No limitations on type or power of sights.

 

Lever Gun League: 100 record shots from the offhand position over five weeks using any lever-action repeating rifle of 6mm caliber or larger. Iron/open sights only.

 

NRA Rimfire Silhouette Match: 40 shots from the offhand position at steel silhouette targets placed at 40 (chickens), 60 (pigs), 77 (turkeys) and 100 (rams) yards.

 

I.B.S. Benchrest Target Match: 10 record shots from the benchrest position at paper IBS targets using a scoped rifle. Classes will include centerfire varmint and hunter, rimfire varmint and hunter and benchrest.

 

Groundhog Benchrest Shoot: 10 record shots from the benchrest position at paper groundhog targets. Classes will include centerfire varmint and hunter, rimfire varmint and hunter, iron/open sights and benchrest.

 

Three Gun Rimfire Action Match: 20 offhand shots from .22LR semi-automatic pistol at steel plates placed at 10 yards, 20 offhand shots from semi-automatic .22LR rifle at steel plates placed at 50 yards and 8 offhand shots from any .22LR rifle at bowling pins placed at 100 yards. Pistol and semi-auto rifle stages are timed.

 

Bench Rest Match: 10 record shots from the benchrest position at paper targets. Classes will include centerfire varmint and hunter, rimfire hunter and varmint, iron/open sights and benchrest.

 

Vietnam Era Three Gun Combat Shoot: 8 shots from the sitting position at steel plates placed at 20 yards from a pump-action 12ga shotgun, 20 offhand shots at steel plates placed at 10 yards from a semi-automatic handgun and 8 offhand shots from any rifle using iron/open sights at bowling pins placed at 100 yards. Shotgun and pistol stages are timed. All firearms must be of a type used by combatants during the Vietnam War era.

 

World War II Three Gun Combat Shoot: Same format as Vietnam Era combat shoot above except limited to firearms used by combatants during World War Two.

 

Wild Bunch Shoot: Same format as Vietnam and WWII combat matches. Shotgun stage is fired using pump-action 12ga shotgun, pistol stage is fired one-handed using 1911-A1, and rifle stage is fired using 1903-A3.
